Meet at 1 pm at Cross & Crows Books (2836 Commercial Drive )
Join us on a crawl of seven local indie bookstores in Vancouver, within the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, to celebrate Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 26, 2025!
The crawl starts at 1 pm at Cross & Crows Books. We will spend about 30 minutes at each store, plus walking time between stores (the first stop is 45 minutes since it includes two stores in one!). The entire crawl runs until approximately 5:15 pm (see full schedule below).
Stops 3, 4 and 5 are all in close proximity on Commercial Drive (near 2nd & 3rd Avenues), so this area will be a great time to grab a snack between stores.
We'll also be crossing paths with the Vancouver Silent Book Club, as they're meeting at Spartacus Books that day from 2-4:30 pm. Feel free to pull up a chair and do a bit of silent reading during our stop there!
If you can't attend the crawl, consider visiting another indie bookstore in your area!
This year, the Canadian Independent Bookstore Association (CIBA) is giving away five gift cards to Canadian independent bookstores. Four readers will win $200 each to the CIBA member bookstore of their choice and one very lucky winner will win the grand prize of $1,000 to their favourite CIBA member bookstore!
Every book purchased from any Canadian independent bookstore on April 26 is worth one entry. Books written and/or illustrated by Canadian creators will be worth double. Books can be purchased in-store, online, or by phone. Proof of purchase is required.
